Safeguarding Commitment

The safety, welfare, and dignity of all young people participating in KFBN programmes is our highest priority.

1. Scope

This policy applies to all Kenya Future Builders Network (KFBN) and Kenya Future Builders Academy (KFBA) programme activities, including applications, selection, pre-departure, Japan placement, and post-return support.

2. Youth Protection

KFBN only places participants aged 18 and above on Japan placements. All participants under 18 who express interest are guided to age-appropriate pathways. All Japan host institutions are vetted for safeguarding compliance before placement agreements are signed.

3. Parental Consent

For applicants under 18 in any preparatory activity, explicit written parental or guardian consent is required before any data is collected or participation is confirmed.

4. Data Protection for Young People

Applicant data — including name, date of birth, school, county, and parent/guardian details — is stored securely, accessed only by authorised programme staff, and is never shared with third parties without consent.

5. Incident Reporting

Any safeguarding concern relating to a KFBN participant must be reported immediately to: kfbn@dennohxy.ink. All reports are treated with confidentiality and urgency.
